The Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK-ASF) and the Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (IPF) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) are offering a two-year (extension possible)
Scientist/PostDoc Position in Satellite Remote Sensing of Liquid-Water Clouds

The successful candidate will work in a team interested in the role of clouds in the climate system, with ongoing projects focusing on the development and application of satellite techniques and statistical methods in climate system research (
The work of the successful candidate will focus on the development and evaluation of techniques for analyzing the properties of liquid-water clouds using satellite data from passive and/or active sensor systems. She/he is expected to be interested in using data from new and/or future missions. The scientist/PostDoc will actively develop her/his own research in this field, and profit from the immense collaboration potential in the group and at KIT. She/he will contribute to the acquisition of third-party funding and to teaching.
The ideal candidate has experience in the development and/or application of satellite-based cloud products. She/he is a team player, has good communication skills and takes on responsibility in an international and interdisciplinary research team. The position can be filled immediately.
KIT is pursuing a gender-equality policy. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. If equally qualified, handicapped applicants will be preferred.
