PhD position at the University of Bremen (Germany):

Measurements of atmospheric trace gases using ground-based solar absorption FTIR spectroscopy in the tropics and the Arctic and their interpretation
Solar absorption FTIR measurements provide a mean to infer the concentration of numerous trace gases in the atmosphere. The FTIR group at the University of Bremen operates several FTIR instruments worldwide. In this position, time series of ground-based solar absorption measurements will be compared with satellite retrievals and atmospheric models will be used for the interpretation of the observed variabilities. Requirements
- M.Sc. degree or equivalent in physics, meteorology, remote sensing, geophysics, mathematics or related fields.
- Skills in scientific computer programming (fortran, Python, Matlab or similar) and a strong interest to work in the field of ground based remote sensing of the atmosphere.
- The successful candidate is required to work in a team and to travel in order to perform maintenance tasks and measurement campaigns worldwide.
- Good command of English

Salary is according to the German federal employee scale TVL-13 (50%) and this position is limited to a term of 36 months.
