Postdoctoral position on tsunami modeling $47,000 per year, term ends April 30, 2019 University of Victoria and Ocean Networks Canada Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) is a world-leading organization supporting ocean discovery and technological innovation. ONC is as a not-for-profit society that operates and manages innovative cabled observatories on behalf of the University of Victoria that supply continuous power and Internet connectivity to various scientific instruments located in coastal, deep-ocean, and Arctic environments. The Tsunami Technology Project is a collaborative effort between IBM Canada and the University of Victoria (UVic) that will develop several data products related to the integration of tsunami detection and forecast systems. This project leverages IBM hardware and software, research from UVic, and marine observatory infrastructure from Ocean Networks Canada (ONC), to advance tsunami science and technology. This project is designed to support Public Safety and advance real-time warning systems contributing to preparation and event detection for the benefit of Canada and the safety of Canadians.
