I will soon be looking for a PhD student to come to the University of
Georgia. We guarantee 4 years of funding in the Department of Geography.
The student must possess coding, system administration and other
technical skills. They must also be comfortable working with large
datasets and numerical weather models, specifically WRF. The project is
funded by NASA's Modeling and Analysis Program and will investigate the
role of soil moisture on landfalling tropical storms/other
rain-producing systems. There will be significant collaboration with Joe
Santanello and NASA Goddard. Contact: Dr. Marshall Shepherd,
