The Transregional Collaborative Research Centre TR32 on Patterns in Soil-VegetationAtmosphere Systems: monitoring, modeling and data assimilation funded by DFG, accepts applications for one Postdoc position for 2 years starting as early as possible. The position is part of the central model development and maintenance service project in TR32, which is an inter-disciplinary project working towards enhancing the applicability and transferability of the Terrestrial Systems Modeling Platform (TerrSysMP). The modeling platform encompasses all compartments from the groundwater to the atmosphere including soil, vegetation, and river networks. We are investigating the role of surface-groundwater interaction and land use variation on the patterns of water, energy and carbon fluxes from catchment to regional scales, to improve our understanding of this feedback process and eventually enhancing the prediction capabilities of the models. Please see the attachment for full details.
