Forwarded from CLIMLIST...

We are seeking a PhD student to conduct research on connections between
climate and hydrology. This student will join a multi-institutional
team sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy that is studying the
intersection of climate, water resources, and land use over the United
States. Responsibilities of this position include use of the Soil and
Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) with input from a range of climate modeling
approaches. The student also will develop and apply performance metrics
to climate model results in order to develop a deeper understanding of
model behavior, skill and uncertainty.

The student should have preparation in the physical sciences, strong
English oral and written communication skills, and some programming
experience. Experience using SWAT or another hydrological model is an
advantage but is not required. The PhD position comes with a stipend at
Iowa State University's established rate along with full tuition coverage.

We would be grateful if you could pass this announcement to any
prospective students.
