Lecturer in Meteorology (Fixed-term 0.5 FTE) Ref: ATS763

The University of East Anglia invites applications for a fixed-term Lecturer in Meteorology in the School of Environmental Sciences.  Candidates should have expertise in meteorology and ideally in numerical modelling.

The successful applicant will contribute to honours-level undergraduate teaching on topics within meteorology and weather applications and, potentially, in numerical modelling of environmental processes (depending in part on their expertise). The teaching will be delivered through a mixture of lectures, practical exercises, dissertation supervision and a field course. You will be expected to take on some related administrative duties and will have the opportunity to develop some new teaching material.

You will be expected to have a PhD (or demonstrable expertise through publications and/or teaching) in Meteorology or a closely related science and applicants must also fulfil all essential elements of the person specification.

This part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available from 1 July 2017 for a fixed term period of 4 years, until 30 June 2021. Note this teaching post could be combined with a part-time research position, if the candidate has such research funding.

£32,004 - £38,183 per annum, pro rata                                      Closing date:  12 midnight on 4 May 2017.
