Forwarded from CLIMLIST... The School of GeoScience, University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Post-doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in climate analysis. We seek an outstanding PDRA to participate in two projects focusing on causes of climate change. The post arises from multiple funding, including ERC advanced grant ‘Transition Into the Antropocene’ and a NERC consortium grant Securing Multidisciplinary UndeRstanding and Prediction of Hiatus and Surge events. The PDRA will be part of a dynamic UK and international research team comprising project members from Edinburgh and Oxford University, Leeds University, Reading University, with collaborators in Europe and the US. The successful candidate will derive and update constraints on future warming rate from observed warming attributed to greenhouse gas increases and more general, human influences, and constraints on future global increase in precipitation, and its spatial patterns, from observed precipitation changes. This post is full time, fixed term until 30th November 2019, with a possibility of extension. The position will start on 1st April 2017; or as soon as possible thereafter. Closing date is march 22.
