Dear colleagues,

There is a vacancy for a PhD position in physical oceanography at the 
Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen. The position is for a fixed-term 
period of 3 years, starting in August 2017. The study is connected to the 
project "Topographic Barriers Controlling Warm Water Inflow and Antarctic Ice 
Shelf Melting" (TOBACO), funded by the Norwegian Research Council.

The PhD-candidate will focus on exchanges of water across an ice shelf front 
and is expected to use theory, results from laboratory experiments, numerical 
modelling (MITgcm) and records from oceanic moorings that are to be recovered 
during the project period.
