Dear colleagues, There is a vacancy for a PhD position in physical oceanography at the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen. The position is for a fixed-term period of 3 years, starting in August 2017. The study is connected to the project "Topographic Barriers Controlling Warm Water Inflow and Antarctic Ice Shelf Melting" (TOBACO), funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The PhD-candidate will focus on exchanges of water across an ice shelf front and is expected to use theory, results from laboratory experiments, numerical modelling (MITgcm) and records from oceanic moorings that are to be recovered during the project period. More details and information on how to apply can be found here: https://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/132649/phd-position-in-physical-oceanography-at-the-geophysical-institute-university-of-bergen best regards, Elin Darelius, Anna Wåhlin and Satoshi Kimura
