Dear colleagues,


pending approval, the Department of Climate and Environmental Consultancy of the German Meteorological Service (Deutscher Wetterdienst) in Offenbach am Main (Germany) invites applications for a scientist position (full time, starting as soon as possible, ending 31. May 2019).

The position contributes to Module B (<>) of the German research programme „Urban Climate under Change“ (<>), which has been initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The research programme intends to develop an innovative urban climate model that is able to simulate micro-scale atmospheric processes for entire cities.


The position focuses on measuring and evaluating computer simulated thermally driven winds (e.g. valley winds, park breezes) and their impact on ventilation and thermal hot spots in cities.
