Forwarded from CLIMLIST... The Departments of Earth Sciences and Geography are recruiting a PhD student to explore the physical processes of climate variability and change over the Northeastern United States using a regional climate model, as well as associated impacts on streamflow and sediment transport, land cover, or agriculture. While based at Dartmouth, the graduate student’s research will be completed in collaboration with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students at the University of Vermont as part of the Vermont EPSCoR (<http://epscor.w3.uvm.edu/2/>) Basin Resilience to Extreme Events project, which assesses how the Lake Champlain Basin’s landscape, watershed, and lake conditions respond to extreme weather events. A background in atmospheric science, as well as experience in programming are preferred but not required. Interested students are encouraged to email Jonathan Winter (<firstname.lastname@example.org>), and apply (<www.dartmouth.edu/~earthsci/>) by January 15, 2017.
