Salary range: £29,301 to £38,183
4 year Post-doctoral position
The Open University, U.K.
The Open University is co-leading the NOMAD instrument, which is a spectrometer instrument designed to map trace gases and aerosols in the Martian atmosphere as part of the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter mission. In this role, you will focus upon the preparation and implementation of aerosol and gas retrievals from NOMAD spectra, involving the use of radiative transfer codes and retrieval algorithms. You will become part of the international NOMAD team, and have the opportunity to interact with the staff at the European Space Agency.
Candidates should have a PhD in planetary science, physics or a closely related field, with knowledge and experience of atmospheric science including atmospheric retrieval methods; radiative transfer processes and numerical programming techniques.
