ACAD102130) Bristol Glaciology Centre University of Bristol The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise, including glacio-isostatic adjustment, during the satellite era and eventually, for the 20th Century by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a statistical inference model. This post requires a background in physical oceanography. You should, ideally, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of sea level data such as tide gauge records or satellite altimetry or a background in thermosteric and/or ocean heat budget studies. You must have good programming skills. Some experience of numerical modelling would be advantageous. This post is part of a European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget. You may be appointed either on a fixed-term or a permanent contract, depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. The funding for the post is up to 48 months. Interviews are likely to be held in the week commencing 21st Nov and the expected start date is early 2017. Informal enquires are welcome.
