Postdoc Position in Climate Modeling at the University of Toronto and the University of Victoria, Canada This is to announce a postdoctoral research fellowship position on impacts of aerosol forcing on Northern Hemisphere climate. The project deals with aerosol forcing influence on Northern Hemisphere circulation, storm tracks, and snow/sea ice processes, with some focus on the Canadian sector. It is funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The position will be primarily located at the University of Toronto, Canada, and will be carried out in close collaboration with research scientists at ECCC's Centre for Climate Modeling and Analysis located at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. Collaborative travel between the two institutions will take place (expenses for this travel are included in the project funding). The project includes analysis of the Canadian Earth System model CanESM and the CMIP archives, as well as original Earth System Model simulations designed for the project. The position is linked to ongoing collaborations between ECCC and several Canadian Universities through the Canadian Sea Ice and Snow Evolution Network (CanSISE.ca). This is a two-year research project. The postdoctoral fellowship appointment will be for one year and renewable for a second year.
