Title: Environmental & Meteorological Consultant Opportunity

Meteosim, S.L. is a technological consulting company that provides valuable 
solutions to public and private organizations whose activities are weather, 
environmental or climate sensitive, by the application of Numerical Models.

SUMMARY

We are looking for an Environmental & Meteorological Consultant to join at the 
Operations Team in Barcelona. Our interest is focused on a proactive person, 
ambitious, passionate, compromised and with interest to grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

  *   Develop consulting and R&D projects.

  *   Run meteorological models for sectors as air quality, climate change, 
oceanic, short term forecasting and seasonal forecasting.

  *   Apply meteorological, climate change and air quality models to meet the 
research, regulatory and needs of our clients.

  *   Assist with business development activities.

Required Qualifications

  *   Degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or 
Geology.

  *   MSc or PhD in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, climate change, ocean or 
environmental modelling.

  *   Knowledge and expertise running meteorological models and/or 
environmental applied models.

  *   High programming (Fortran, C, C++) level.

  *   UNIX/LINUX wide experience (as administrator and advanced user).

  *   Advanced English and Spanish level (written and spoken).

  *   Minimum 2 years of experience on private company or research centre.

  *   Proactive and teamwork attitude.

  *   Excellent problem-solving skills.

  *   Ability to communicate topics and issues effectively, both verbally and 
in writing, to team members, clients, and the general public.

  *   Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications

  *    Experience in projects executed in South America and/or Africa.

  *   Experience in projects funded by multilateral organizations.

  *   Experience in dev eloping meteorological/oceanic forecast systems.

  *   Climate change and/or seasonal modelling experience.

  *   French, Portuguese.

  *   Perl, Python, MySQL, JavaScript.
