Job Description:

The Kentucky Climate Center is seeking applicants for the position of
Applications Developer Analyst I for the Kentucky Mesonet
(<www.kymesonet.org>), a research-grade weather and climate monitoring
infrastructure that supports public safety and economic development
across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This position will design and
develop web applications, including determining specific requirements,
graphic design, coding, and ongoing maintenance, for the Kentucky Mesonet.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Designing, coding, and implementing computer applications and scripts
for dynamic, interactive, web-based analysis and display of scientific
data, inclusive of desktop and mobile device environments
• Troubleshooting/diagnosing application problems
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of applications
• Training and supervising students
• Assisting with systems administration tasks, as needed to backup
existing staff
• Participation in research activities, as needed

Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science or B.S. in a scientific or technical
discipline, such as Meteorology, with equivalent computing experience
and/or training
• Experience in some combination of LINUX, PHP, Python, and SQL
• Graphic design
• HTML/CSS/JS

Additional Information:
Salary Grade:  108
Salary Range:   $40,000 - $45,000
