NESP POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Two-year position at the School of Earth Sciences, University of Melbourne
Salary: A$66,809 - A$90,657 p.a.(PhD Entry Level A$84,458) plus 9.5% superannuation (retirement savings contribution)
This research project aims to improve our understanding of the links between tropical cyclones, east coast lows and climate. Under funding provided by the National Environmental Science Program, you will join a multi-institutional team of researchers including scientists from the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO. The main focus of the project will be on analysing observational data and climate model simulations as a tool to understand the relationship between climate, tropical cyclones and the expansion of the tropics. Another strand of the project will focus on mechanisms of intensification of east coast lows.
