We have an open postdoc position at Argonne. And this is a really nice one which involves working with the team behind the DOE ACME climate model in the newly created Climate Model Development and Validation team.
In a nutshell the successful applicant will be using radar data from Darwin, Australia and Northern Oklahoma to build diagnostics to see how well the convective scheme in ACME performs when run an 10km and with mesoscale parameterization turned off. Thing like looking at precipitation coverage, mesoscale flow (we have dual doppler at Darwin) etc.. And, all being well (nothing is ever certain) while the postdoc is year to year the funding is three years so a good chance to get good outcomes. We are a Python house here so the successful applicant will be expected to know or be willing to learn python and will be expected to contribute open source code (to Py-ART or other).

And question give me a yell. I really want some one to start no later than the 1st of October 2016.
Please pass around!
