We have a fully-funded PhD studentship available (if you are a UK citizen or an EU citizen that has lived in the UK for the past 3 years), based at the University of Leicester:
"Pollution footprint of a Chinese Megacity"

This project will track and model sources of pollution using trajectory analysis to understand air flow and airmass origins and the effect of trace gas levels across the city. The PhD is funded by NCAS as part of a wider programme to study air pollution in Beijing and will involve ten universities in the UK in a new field campaign that will provide new and exciting measurement data.

For more details see:

And application here: https://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/chemistry/postgraduate-study/phd-studentships/fleming2016

This is one of 12 NCAS-coordinated NERC studentships in air quality and atmospheric chemistry and physics distributed across UK universities. The studentships span the fundamentals of atmospheric pollution, megacity air quality, boundary-layer atmospheric physics, technology and informatics. NCAS will manage and deliver a complementary programme of formal training for this cohort of students, including new short course provision and use of existing NCAS summer schools and training courses.

The closing date was Friday 3 June, but will be extended; if interested please email Zoe Fleming (zf5@leicester.ac.uk) ASAP
