A 3-year PhD fellowship is available at the Dynamical
Meteorology Laboratory (LMD) in the IPSL research
center in Paris.|
The aim of the project is to improve our understanding of Antarctic precipitation by analyzing CloudSat and in-situ precipitation measurements and to improve the representation of snowfall in the IPSL Climate Model. Detailed information is attached and can also be found at this address :
The PhD student will join an ongoing project on Antarctic precipitation funded by the French national research agency. The working environment at LMD/IPSL and within the APRES3 project's consortium will provide excellent opportunities for learning and collaboration in the fields of climate modeling, polar research and remote sensing.
Requirements : Master of Science degree in physics, meteorology, geophysics, or comparable science. Experience in scientific programming and modeling are expected.
