[Met-jobs] Vacancies: Climatology Researcher and Statistical Modeller in La Serena, Chile

The Centro de Estudios Avanzados en Zonas Áridas (Center for Advanced Studies in Arid Zones, CEAZA), La Serena-Coquimbo, Chile, is currently seeking to appoint a Researcher in Regional Climatology and a Statistical Modeller for Geoscience Applications.

 

The Researcher in Regional Climatology should develop the area of regional climatology focused in the northern and central regions of Chile, through the direction of research projects, and by generating publications in relevant ISI journals. The researcher should be able to integrate local and global scale processes through the use of numerical and statistical tools, as well as integrating and comparing numerical model outputs with local-scale meteorological data. In addition, the researcher should be able to work in multi-disciplinary research teams.

 

The Statistical Modeller for Geoscience Applications should be able to generate, in conjunction with researchers, different types of statistical models, implement new models, analyse time series data undertake validation of atmospheric and hydrological models and to analyse model outputs. Data, models and analysis are related with different geoscience disciplines.
