There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral fellow position at Geophysical Institute within Climate Modelling.

About the project/work tasks
The position is connected to the ERC STERCP grant that focuses on the development of super climate models.
The simulation and prediction of climate remains a challenge. The position will focus on applying two alternative methods – flux-correction and super climate modelling – to enhance climate prediction and reduce uncertainties in climate change projections. A super climate model is an optimal combination of different models that influence one another as they run. Our recent work has shown the potential of this approach to reduce model errors. The aim of this position will be to use these two different approaches to understand how model errors impact the simulation and prediction of climate.

About the position of postdoctoral fellow:
The position of postdoctoral fellow is a fixed-term appointment with the primary objective of qualifying the appointee for work in top academic positions. The fixed-term period for this position is 2 years. Individuals may not be hired for more than one fixed-term period as a postdoctoral fellow at the same institution.
Upon appointment, applicants must submit a project proposal for the qualifying work. The project proposal must be prepared in cooperation with the project manager/supervisor and must also include a schedule. It is a requirement that the project is completed in the course of the period of employment.
