Postdoc position in URBAN CLIMATE MODELING at National University of
Singapore

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a
modeling study assessing the impact of urbanization on key climate
processes over Singapore using the UK Met Office Unified Model under
funding from the Meteorological Office Singapore (MSS). The successful
applicant is expected to lead the development of the urban morphology
database for prescribing urban canopy parameters, consolidate
meteorological data for use in model evaluation, initiate and lead the
analysis of model fidelity in simulating the observed temperature and
energy balance impacts, contribute to the analysis related to local
convective processes, present results at conferences/meetings and lead
the writing of progress reports and scientific papers.

Successful candidates must have a PhD in a related field, relevant
modeling experience and excellent technical, organizational and
communication skills, both written and verbal to disseminate key results
to the academic community, project partners and government stakeholders.
The position will be based in the growing urban climate group of the
Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore
(<http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/geog/>). This will be a collaborative
project with the Center for Climate Research
Singapore(<http://ccrs.weather.gov.sg/index/>) and UK Met Office.

The position is approved for an initial two-year period and will remain
open until a suitable candidate has been selected. To apply, please send
a cover letter, full CV together with names and contact information for
three references via email to Dr Matthias Roth (<geomr@nus.edu.sg
<mailto:geomr@nus.edu.sg>>;
