We need a talented scientist to carry out research on the drivers of variability and change in European climate as part of the PRIMAVERA project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme. You will analyse observations and output from global climate model experiments to improve scientific understanding of the processes that govern variability and change in European climate, with a particular focus on the development of metrics characterising hydroclimatic extremes over large European rivers basins and the atmospheric processes associated with these events.

 

You will have:

- A PhD or equivalent in physical or mathematical sciences

- Demonstrated scientific analytical ability, creativity and self-motivation

- Substantial experience in data analysis and computer programming

- An understanding of physical processes relating to weather and climate

We need a talented scientist to carry out research on the drivers of variability and change in European climate as part of the PRIMAVERA project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme. You will conduct analyses across the global climate models involved in the PRIMAVERA consortium, at multiple resolutions, to improve scientific understanding of the processes that govern variability and change in European climate, with a particular focus on the large-scale atmospheric moisture transport towards Europe. You will work closely with the PRIMAVERA team in Reading and the European PRIMAVERA partners.

 

You will have:
