The "Remote Sensing and Hydrodynamic" team at the Laboratoire d'Océanologie et de Géosciences ( in France is seeking applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship, beginning January  1, 2016. The candidate will work on the evaluation and comparison of atmospheric correction algorithms over optically-complex waters for the SeaWiFS, MODIS and MERIS sensors. This work will be done in the frame of an IOCCG working group headed by Cédric Jamet ( The candidate will be in charge of collecting the outputs of the different atmospheric correction algorithms involved in the evaluation, will have to use in-situ and simulated datasets as well as satellite images and may have to run some algorithms. Statistical evaluation will be done. At least, the candidate will participate to sea-field cruises for collecting in-situ datasets (radiometric) for match-ups exercise.

A PhD. at the time of appointment is required. Candidates with knowledge about atmospheric correction and ocean color images processing will be preferred. The position is only for a year. The candidate should be highly motivated and have demonstrated ability to work independently. Programming skills in Matlab, Python and SeaDAS, and strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
