Find thereafter a one-year postdoctoral fellowship:
The "Remote Sensing and Hydrodynamic" team at the Laboratoire d'Océanologie et de Géosciences (http://log.cnrs.fr/) in France is seeking applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship, beginning January 1, 2016. The candidate will work on the evaluation and comparison of atmospheric correction algorithms over optically-complex waters for the SeaWiFS, MODIS and MERIS sensors. This work will be done in the frame of an IOCCG working group headed by Cédric Jamet (http://ioccg.org/groups/atm_corr.html). The candidate will be in charge of collecting the outputs of the different atmospheric correction algorithms involved in the evaluation, will have to use in-situ and simulated datasets as well as satellite images and may have to run some algorithms. Statistical evaluation will be done. At least, the candidate will participate to sea-field cruises for collecting in-situ datasets (radiometric) for match-ups exercise.
A PhD. at the time of appointment is required. Candidates with knowledge about atmospheric correction and ocean color images processing will be preferred. The position is only for a year. The candidate should be highly motivated and have demonstrated ability to work independently. Programming skills in Matlab, Python and SeaDAS, and strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Review applications starts now until December 15, 2015. Please apply by sending an email to Cedric Jamet (firstname.lastname@example.org) including a curriculum vitae, a cover letter and the names and adresses of at least three referees. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact:
