[Met-jobs] Research engineer (m/f) in developments of storm surge forecast systems

As part of a French governmental project (in collaboration with the French
Meteorological Office)  to improve sea level forecast at the shore
and storm surge warning, the French hydrographic  and Oceanographic
Office (SHOM) is seeking applications for a research engineer (m/f)
in developments of oceanic forecast systems, to join its R&D department
in Toulouse (France).

The position is for 30 months.

You will contribute to the conception, development, validation and improvement
of the storm surge forecast system based on the oceanic model HYCOM. This system
is part of the surge warning capacity of the French Meteorological Office.

Practical experience with hydrodynamic modelling theory and tools,
analysis of hydrodynamic model outputs, as well as knowledge on
scientific programming are required.
Knowledge on the HYCOM core model and important processes involved in storm surge
is an advantage.
