PhD Studentship - Climate, Harmful Algal Blooms, and Human Health Ref: 1857 The University of Exeter Medical School European Centre for Environment and Human Health (www.ecehh.org<http://www.ecehh.org/>) in Truro (Cornwall UK) and the Met Office (www.metoffice.gov.uk<http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/>) in Exeter (UK) wish to recruit a doctoral student to work on CASE PhD project funded by NERC and the Met Office with collaborating Supervisors at Public Health England (PHE), the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS), and the Scottish Association of Marine Sciences (SAMS). The student will be based both at ECEHH and at the Met Office, as well as interacting with PHE, CEFAS and SAMS. This doctoral studentship would suit a student interested in oceanographic and statistical/numerical modelling, epidemiology, and public health. Applicants should be highly motivated and have a relevant undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) and ideally an MSc qualification; strong quantitative skills are essential including good general computing skills (Fortran, Unix, MatLab or similar), with proven experience in handling and analysing large datasets.
