Imperial College: PhD Studentship on atmospheric composition-climate interactions

There is currently one PhD position available through the Imperial College NERC DTP Programme, and in view of this the Composition-Climate team within the Atmospheric Physics Group (http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/spat) is inviting applications by students interested in pursuing a PhD project on one of the following topics:

a)
"Fires, atmospheric composition, and climate forcing"

b) "Short-lived pollutant effects on climate and air quality"

You would be joining an active team and working on a cutting edge scientific area, with close interactions and visits to the NASA GISS institute (USA), and several opportunities for other collaborations. We are looking for a graduate in physics, chemistry, maths, engineering, environmental or Earth science with at least a 2.1 Honours degree.
Funding is only available for UK applicants (includes non-UK applicants who have been resident in the UK throughout the 3 year period preceding the date of the award) and EU applicants. The deadline for receiving applications is the 31st of July 2015, but interested candidates are strongly encouraged to contact Dr. Apostolos Voulgarakis at least two weeks in advance with a CV and the names of two referees.

For more details, please contact: a.voulgarakis@imperial.ac.uk

Best regards,

Apostolos
