Research fellow (PhD candidate) in numerical modeling and experimental 

The Geophysical Institute ( has a vacancy for a research 
fellow (PhD candidate) in numerical modeling and experimental meteorology. The 
position is for a fixed term of 4 years and is associated with the research 
group in meteorology.

We seek an enthusiastic and creative PhD candidate to join the forefront of the 
rapidly evolving field of stable isotope meteorology. The overall aim of the 
project will be to develop new approaches for using the observed stable isotope 
composition of water vapour and precipitation as an additional constraint to 
weather and climate models. The position will involve both experimental work in 
the field and laboratory, as well as numerical modeling. The aim of the work 
will be to contribution to our understand of patterns in ice cores and other 
climate archives from a meteorological perspective.
