Fugro GEOS, Houston, TX office, has an excellent opportunity for a Weather Forecasting Services Business Development Manager: This key role is at the forefront of the technical and commercial development of Fugro’s weather forecasting service line in the Americas Region. Fugro already has an established weather forecasting service line, including 24/7 forecasting desks in the UK (Wallingford), UAE (Abu Dhabi) and Singapore. To successfully develop this business we need an individual with a strong technical and commercial experience in commercial meteorology and the provision of weather forecasting services to industry Clients. Roles and responsibilities will vary as the strategy develops, but will include: • Business development and client engagement • Project management • Technical development of service deliverables • Commercial management Knowledge/Skill/Qualifications • Have an undergraduate degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences. Graduate degree in Meteorology preferred. • Proven five (5) plus years of relevant industry experience. • Individual shall be knowledgeable in all aspects of weather forecasting. • Individual must possess the full professional knowledge of meteorological methods, techniques, and theory. • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken, both of which will be required to develop the business. • Ability to analyze market data, identify trends and recommend appropriate actions to continuously improve key metrics. • Experience with networking a necessity. • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp different technologies. • Proven success managing relationships with external clients / vendors. • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work within a marketing team, core sales and procurement teams and other departments. • Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record. • Possess or be able to obtain valid passport. • Strong proficiency in use of office application software. • Be able to meet physical demands. Perform moderate work exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. • Be able to travel as required, both domestically and internationally.
