Department of Meteorology, University of Reading, UK
Full Time, Fixed Term for 3 years, starting date as soon as possible but can be delayed
Closing date: 4 May 2015
A post-doctoral research associate is sought within the Department of Meteorology to work within the context of the ERC-funded Advanced Research Grant “Understanding the atmospheric circulation response to climate change” (ACRCC), under the supervision of Professor Ted Shepherd. The goal of the project is to improve our fundamental understanding of large-scale atmospheric circulation, including climatology, variability, and the response to climate change, and its representation in climate models. Most of the team members are already in place (see http://www.met.reading.ac.uk/users/users/1773 and/or http://www.met.reading.ac.uk/~sj903980/Home.html), and for this particular post a candidate is sought to develop a risk-based characterization of uncertainty in the response of atmospheric circulation and circulation-related weather extremes to climate change.
