JOB SUMMARY:

Science, Service, and Stewardship

This position is located in the NOAA, office of Oceanic and Atmospheric
Research (OAR), Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL),
Ann Arbor, MI.

About the Position:This position leads the Integrated Physical and
Ecological Modeling and Forecasting Branch of NOAA’s Great Lakes
Environmental Research Laboratory, developing new and integrated models
to help coastal managers, researchers, and the public make better
decisions based on information about future ecological conditions.This
position is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the new, state of the
science, Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. Housing options
are abundant within a short distance of the Laboratory including
excellent residential suburbs with highly rated public, private and
parochial schools, within commuting distance of Northern Ohio, the
Detroit Metropolitan area and south central Michigan. Public and private
universities are located in Ann Arbor including the University of
Michigan and four major professional sports teams and sports stadiums
are located in nearby Metropolitan Detroit. The economy of the region is
diverse and vibrant with all-year-round outdoor recreation including
boating, hiking, and skiing. Numerous premier medical facilities are
located in the Ann Arbor area. Cultural opportunities and many ethnic
restaurants abound. Ann Arbor is an exceptional city to live, work and
play. It is strategically located along major interstate routes and is
only 30 minutes from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, a major hub for
Delta Air Lines.
