Partrac has an immediate opportunity for an Oceanographer with exceptional data processing and reporting skills. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of oceanographic processes, a flair for programming in Matlab, an inquisitive interest in and the ability to interpret complex oceanographic datasets, and experience of writing technical reports.

You must therefore have an excellent work ethic and demonstrate experience of working to rigorous quality standards. You must have the organisational and interpersonal skills necessary to be able to successfully work to deadlines on multidisciplinary projects, both in a team environment and autonomously.
· Working knowledge of first party processing programs from companies such as RDI, Nortek, Datawell, Triaxys, RBR and Valeport.
· An understanding of oceanographic instrumentation and how they derive measurements, with the ability to spot and explain sources of error and the impact this has on data integrity.
· Experience in writing and sharing clear, concise Matlab code within a team.
· Analysis, presentation and delivery of data through a range of techniques, plots and data formats specific to client needs. For example, wave spectral, turbulence and tidal harmonic analysis, 2D and 3D current profiles and 2D vector spatial plots.
· Proficiency in Matlab.
