Postdoctoral Researcher in Biogeochemical Modeling The Postdoctoral Researcher in Biogeochemical Modeling is a member of the modeling team at the Center for Coastal Margin Observation & Prediction (CMOP), an NSF Science and Technology Center headquartered at Oregon Health & Science University. CMOP is a multi-institutional center conducting coastal-margin science, with a primary focus in the Columbia River. The primary responsibility of this postdoctoral researcher will be to advance, through team modeling, the understanding and prediction of biogeochemical pathways and ecological processes in the Columbia River coastal margin. Modeling development will leverage an existing circulation modeling system and will benefit from an extensive biogeochemical observation network. The modeling focus will be guided by inter-disciplinary science questions, raised in the context of NSF- and regionally-funded research initiatives that address the need to understand contemporary variability and to anticipate climate- and development-induced changes in rivers, estuaries and continental shelves. Regional travel will be required, to work with CMOP investigators at Oregon State University and University of Washington. Depending on qualifications and interest, opportunities might be available to mentor undergraduate and high school interns. Please see the attachment for full details.
