Earth Science, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada is seeking
applications for a postdoctoral fellow starting spring or fall 2015.
Selected candidate will be part of newly funded Canadian FloodNet

impacts and to enhance flood forecasting and management capacity in Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the spatial
variability of observed and simulated extreme precipitation events in
selected regions across Canada. He/she will also evaluate the
performance and applicability of commonly used indices to characterize
extreme precipitation events in these regions. The proposed work would
help to determine whether spatial trends in extreme precipitation have
been adequately simulated by the global and regional climate models and
how these simulations may be downscaled to local scale for hydrologic
