There’s a lot more to the Meteorological Service of New Zealand than our expertise at public weather forecasting for New Zealand. We’re continuing to grow our international business delivering media products and services that provide powerful weather intelligence via technical innovation.

To continue to build our global reputation we are looking for a Broadcast and Media Meteorologist to lead the presentation of high quality weather content and to play a key role in the support of our growing portfolio of multimedia products.

To be successful you will need a strong level of meteorological knowledge to enable the production of timely and accurate meteorological shows featuring diverse global locations and conditions for multimedia distribution worldwide.

You also need to demonstrate an ability to translate complex weather patterns into an easy to understand message for a wider audience while maintaining the integrity of the content.

While not essential, you’ll enjoy the role if you have an interest in weather graphics products and in the development of sharing your broadcast skills with other meteorologists.  There’ll also be accountabilities for long term weather content and global events of public interest to keep busy!

So why join us? You’ll be joining a truly global business with a diverse and energetic crew of creative achievers and innovators, passionate about connecting the science of weather with people in everyday life.  If you have the meteorological know-how and can convey this on camera – we are keen to hear from you!
