Colleagues,

The NWP SAF (numerical weather prediction satellite application facility) 
exists to co-ordinate research and
development efforts among its partners to improve the interface between 
satellite data and NWP for the benefit of
EUMETSAT member states.

The NWP SAF website is one of the primary means of communication of the SAF to 
its users. The project's aim is to
refresh and restructure the SAF's website to improve the user experience.

During their placement, the successful candidate will be expected to use their 
creative flair to enhance the website.
Throughout this project they will be able to improve their technical skills, 
experience working in a scientific
environment and learn about the application of satellites to numerical weather 
prediction.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to learn new things is essential to 
this role.
2. Prior experience of web design (including one or more of HTML, CSS, 
javascript, PHP or perl) would be an advantage.
3. Some interest in satellites and remote sensing
4. Some experience of working in a linux environment would be desirable.
5. A scientific background would be an advantage.
