In summary the job is to work within the Scottish Government funded centre of expertise: ClimateXChange which exists to enhance support for policy and decisions that are to be made by the Scottish Government in response to the changing climate.
The job-holder has two objectives.1) To carry out research in response to the needs of Scottish Government and its agencies on the impacts of climate change on Scotland.
2) To provide a rapid response to short term ad hoc requests for information on climate change for ClimateXChange (CXC) and Scottish Government.
The post entails working closely with users and collaborating with researchers from the Research Institutes and Universities that form ClimateXChange.
You will have a PhD (or near completion), or equivalent experience, in an appropriate discipline, and have demonstrable ability to plan and act autonomously after assessing many competing demands. You will also have a publication record in the impacts of climate change and demonstrated willingness to engage with users.
This is a fixed term post starting as soon as possible until 31 March 2016 and with the possibility of extension.
