MetraWeather (a subsidiary of the Meteorological Service of New Zealand Ltd (MetService)) is an innovative multi-million dollar global company with an excellent reputation for forecasting expertise and technical innovation. We are not ready to stop there.

To continue to build and support our international growth we need an Engineer - Forecaster Systems to create innovative weather forecasting products for both our Meteorologists and our customers. You'll be working with a range of systems including IBL, Weatherscape and a range of proprietary systems.

To be successful you'll need to:

·  be proficient with Python and/or _javascript_

·  have excellent working knowledge of both windows and Linux environments

·  have a customer-orientated delivery focussed attitude

·  thrive in a fast paced, creative and dynamic environment

·  exhibit a sound analytical approach

·  ideally but not essentially have experience working with weather, ocean or climate datasets
