Climatology/Biogeochemical modeling The Earth & Environmental Sciences Department at Lehigh University has an opening for a graduate student (MS or PhD) starting in August as part of a newly NSF-funded project aimed at understanding the role of predictability of climate disasters such as floods and droughts on human societies. The student will have the opportunity to work with climate data and indices of climate extremes related to prehistoric, preindustrial, and contemporary civilizations. The student will be able to develop their own project within the overall project objectives, including applications to ecosystem modeling. Ideal candidates will have quantitative and/or computer programming skills and background in physics, statistics, or climate science. Application deadline is January 1.
