USRA is seeking a Research Scientist for our GESTAR program at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The position will focus on the development of techniques to estimate the impacts of wind observations in meteorological data assimilation systems. This will focus on the cost effectiveness of active and passive wind observation systems and their impacts on weather forecasts. Required Skills: PhD in Earth Sciences or related field. Knowledge of data assimilation systems and/or wind measurement techniques. This position is a 2 year appointment.
