Post Doctoral Research Fellow
Monash University, Melbourne Australia

The Maritime Continent is one of the key regions for climate and remains
amongst the most poorly simulated areas in climate models. In recognition of
this issue, the ARC Centre of Excellence and the Bureau of Meteorology are
co-funding the joint Maritime Continent Fellowship.

As the successful candidate, you will use a combination of observational and
modelling approaches to improve the representation of rainfall in and around
the Maritime Continent in the Australian Community Climate and Earth System
Simulator (ACCESS). This research will therefore contribute directly to
improved prediction systems on various timescales.

If you have a doctoral degree in atmospheric science, or a related field, a
good understanding of tropical meteorology in particular atmospheric convection
and a sound grasp of General Circulation Models, we encourage you to apply.

Applications are online and must address the selection criteria.
