Two fully funded graduate research assistant positions are available at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to pursue projects relating to the interactions between the stratosphere, troposphere, and ocean on timescales ranging from the intraseasonal to the centennial. A variety of different projects, in both hemispheres and in the Tropics, are available within this overall theme. A strong undergraduate (or master's degree) background in physics or atmospheric sciences/climate is required. Experience with programming (e.g. Matlab) is required.
The anticipated start date is October 26, 2014, though later start dates are possible.
Send a letter describing your interests and qualifications for the position (i.e. a description of your past and present research interests and the extent of your experience with Matlab), your CV/resume, and a copy of your transcript from your undergraduate institution to Chaim Garfinkel (email@example.com).
The selected students will enroll in the graduate program of the Earth Science Institute at the Hebrew University campus on Givat Ram in Jerusalem. Depending on their background, the selected students will enroll in either the master’s or the Ph.D. program. Stipends for graduate students are 250% of the standard university academic scholarship. No teaching assistant duties are required.
