Modelling natural catastrophe exposure is an exciting and rapidly expanding area of our business. Faber Global Analytics helps our clients worldwide to understand & quantify risk from natural perils such as windstorm, earthquake and flood.
Day-to-day, you will be involved in processing and auditing client data, running client portfolios against state-of-the-art internal and external computer models and synthesising the results. You must be able to show that you take a methodical approach to problem-solving and are comfortable with numbers and IT. A background in natural hazards, engineering or IT, combined with experience of insurance and/or reinsurance is preferred. In addition, you should have the ability to effectively communicate technical detail to internal and external clients who do not necessarily have technical knowledge of the subject. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and self-motivated team player.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to Master’s degree level in a relevant discipline. You will be or have the ability to become a confident presenter and familiar with the insurance market. Knowledge of programming languages would be an advantage. Experience of using GIS software would also be beneficial.
