Overview of role
The Head of Servers and Desktops is responsible for the provision of server 
infrastructure and user-facing IT services, including:
•       Linux and Windows physical and virtual server infrastructure in a 
mission-critical 24/7 production environment;
•       end-user devices (managed Linux and Windows desktops, mobile devices, 
etc.); 
•       business applications such as email, document management, and 
accounting software;
•       web service platforms, and support for ECMWF’s website and operational 
production of graphical products on the Internet.
