Subject: Researcher position, Tropical Atlantic climate variability, University of Bergen The Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen has a vacancy for a researcher position in the general area of tropical climate variability and predictability for two years (but with possibilities for extension). The position will focus on the Tropical Atlantic and on seasonal-to-decadal timescales. The Geophysical Institute carries out research and education in meteorology, climate, physical and chemical oceanography. The department has currently 18 permanent scientific positions and 16 technical/administrative staff. In addition, there are 11 adjunct professors and associate professors and about 50 PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and full-time researchers. The position is funded through the PREFACE-project (Enhancing prediction of Tropical Atlantic climate and its impacts), which is a European collaborative research project aimed at improving prediction of changes in climate, marine ecosystems, and associated socio-economic impacts in the Tropical Atlantic and African region.
