2060 – Public invitation to express interest for CMCC Post Degree Position
The CMCC is taking into consideration the possibility to hire a talented, motivated and proactive Post Degree or Post Doc to carry out research activity on the costal ocean model in the context of the TESSA Project.

The location is CMCC Headquarters in Lecce, LE, Italy.

The primary purpose for this position is connected with the porting, optimization, and execution of the unstructured grid finite element model on IBM architecture for operational use in the TESSA Project. In particular the activity will be focused on parallelization of the model using the message passing parallel approach and the identification of the most computationally intensive kernels and their optimization on multi-core architectures. Different aspects must be considered for the optimization: to identify and reduce the load unbalance between parallel tasks; to reduce communication overhead; to better exploit the hardware architecture through the use of optimal mapping strategies; to improve parallelization; to adopt efficient solution for I/O; to introduce hybrid level of parallelism.
