2061 – Public invitation to express interest for CMCC Post Doc PositionThe CMCC is taking into consideration the possibility to hire a talented, motivated and proactive Post Doc to carry out research activity on the costal ocean models in the context of the TESSA Project.
The location is CMCC Headquarters in Lecce, LE, Italy.The primary purpose for this position is connected with the evaluation of new numerical methods for solving PDE (Partial Differential Equations) for unstructured grid finite element model. The first step in the activity is the exploitation of optimized numerical libraries such as PETSc. At later stage, new numerical methods must be evaluated to overcome parallel scalability limitations.
The minimum qualifications are: Ph.D. in Numerics or related disciplins; Good knowledge of parallel numerical libraries (PETSc) Good knowledge of numerical methods for solving PDE Basic knowledge on High Performance Computing; Basic knowledge of Fortran Good knowledge of both written and spoken English language. The desired qualifications are: Basic knowledge on ocean models;Good knowledge of parallel programming environment and libraries (MPI, OpenMP) The initial appointment is for 12 months starting from 1 April 2014 at an annual salary ranging from 30 to 44 Euros, comprehensive of benefits, depending on qualification and experience.
