Forwarded from CLIMLIST... Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the atmospheric processes research group within the Climate Change Research Centre within the Faculty of Science, University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. The atmospheric process group aims to further our understanding of the global weather and climate system and in particular the role of cloud and convective processes in controlling the behaviour of larger-scale weather phenomena and climate change. This position focuses specifically on a project, funded by the Australian Research Council, that seeks to examine and better understand links between convective behaviour in the present-day atmosphere and cloud feedbacks on global climate. This work will likely involve the use of numerical cloud-system resolving models and analysis of observations, but may also involve the use of global atmosphere models. This is a full time (35 hours per week) fixed term appointment for 3 years, starting in early to mid 2014. Salary is A$81K - A$87K per year (plus 17% employer superannuation and leave loading) Applications close 14 February.
