Dear Roger,

Would you be able to advertise the following open call for participants through the Met-Jobs mailing list.

Call for participants for a British Council Researcher Links workshop: From Climate Science to Climate Services for Society

Under the British Council Researcher Links scheme we will be holding a bilateral workshop on the above theme in Cape Town, South Africa from the 3th to 6th March 2014, bringing together early career researchers to discuss their work and to build international relationships.

The workshop, coordinated by the UK Met Office and the University of Cape Town, will bring together a multidisciplinary group of dynamic early career researchers, from South Africa and the UK. Participants will work together to examine the value of their research for managing risks and opportunities presented by a changing climate. They will explore how knowledge exchange and collaboration across nations, research areas and with end-users can bring valuable insight and drive innovative development of useful science and services.

We are now inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK or South Africa (within 10 years of receiving their PhD or equivalent research experience), currently employed by in a research institute in either the UK or South Africa, to apply to attend this workshop. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Researcher Links programme. The application form along with more details on the initiative can be found at

This application deadline is 18th December 2013. If you have any questions please contact

Many thanks,

Jane Strachan
